LTY UPDATE: Day#1 Monday May 23, 2011
Majuro to Mili atoll

Location: about 125m SSE of Majuro, Marshalls
Position: 07 08.890 N, 171 16.869 E (cut & past this into Google Earth to see where we are on map)
Wind: 10-15 kts E
Seas: flat (still on mooring inside Majuro atoll)
Air temp: 90.5F 32.5 C
Sea temp: 86.4 F 30.2 C

Barometer: 10153mm The Next Leg of Life, Love & Learning begins! Greetings one and all friends of the Good Ship Learnativity. We are about to set sail from Majuro where LTY has been moored since mid October and where Linda, Ruby and I have been enjoying this area, the people and getting LTY all ship shape for another year of sailing. After several weeks of LOTS of hard work we have all the boat jobs done, have all tanks and batteries filled up and all provisions bought and stored for the next few months. We've been over at the small islet of Eneko since yesterday afternoon for one last test sail and to finish the Finlay preparations. Almost done now and we will be casting off in the next hour or so after one last swim over to the pristine postcard beach ashore to give Ruby one last romp ashore. You should see daily updates like this from now on as we make our way generally south to Fiji with some number of stops along the way. We'll sail overnight tonight and arrive at the atoll of Mili about 100nm south of here tomorrow morning for one last chance to say goodbye to the Marshall Islands (for now) and will stay there for a night or two before heading out on the longer sails south to Fiji. We'll take each day as it comes (as usual) to decide the route and what stops (if any) we'll make on our way to Fiji, all dictated by weather and whim as we go. You'll know almost as soon as we do via postings like this and/or the updates to FaceBook and the Learnativity blog. (http://learnativity.typepad.com) We don't have Linda's FaceBook and blog set up for these automatic postings just yet but will add these when we get to Fiji or next get a good internet connection. We are SO excited about this new journey we are starting in our life together and look forward to keeping you updated and sharing it all with you as it happens.
